Mirabito Presents 51st Annual Columbus Day Tournament of Bands Parade
Oct 12, 2009
The chilly streets of Downtown Binghamton were filled with excitement on Monday morning for the 51st Annual Columbus Day Tournament of Bands Parade and Italian Festival.
“Events such as this one bring the community together which is very important,” said Joe Mirabito, CEO of Mirabito Energy Products. “Mirabito’s is proud to be part of such a nice tradition here in Downtown Binghamton.”
Ten bands from Class A, B and C competed for trophies and cash prizes. While three bands came out on top, fun was had by all. The parade had many elements including Mayor Matt Ryan leading the way, Honorary Parade Marshalls, Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Mirabito Senior and Carmela Mirabito, the Broome County Sheriffs, and the Hall Family High Riders.
The event is topped off with delicious Italian foods and pastries available for purchase and Los Vega playing music for all to enjoy.
Thanks to the City of Binghamton, Mayor Matt Ryan, the Downtown Binghamton Business Association and Ron Sall for bringing this wonderful event to Downtown, once again.
