(Binghamton, NY) – Mr. Ron Sall, President of the Downtown Binghamton Business Association, will join Mr. Joseph Mirabito, CEO of the Mirabito Family of Companies, and other business representatives, to announce details regarding the 53rd Annual Columbus Day Tournament of Bands Parade.
Last year’s parade, band competition and Italian Festival were cancelled as a result of efforts and funding being redirected to the regional flooding disaster.
The parade offers competition for high school bands, color guards and drum majors in three different classes. The event is sanctioned by the New York Federation of Contest Judges for Marching Bands. Entries are currently being accepted. Trophies and cash prizes are awarded.
The parade starts at 10:00am on Monday, October 8th at Arthur and Main Streets and will travel down Court Street to Exchange Street.
The Mirabito Columbus Day Tournament of Bands Parade will also host an Italian Festival on Water Street, next to Boscov’s. Members of St. Mary’s of the Assumption Parish, the Abruzzese Club and the Son’s of Italy will offer food and beverages as fundraising events.
The Mirabito Family of Companies is celebrating its 85th Anniversary and includes Mirabito Energy Products, Mirabito Convenience Stores, Old Road Truck Repair and the Rewards Plus customer loyalty program. Mirabito corporate offices are located in The MetroCenter, Binghamton, NY. For more information, visit www.mirabito.com.
