Stay informed about the future of your energy.
We strongly support action on climate change and decarbonization. We also know that the energy we all need to survive and thrive in our communities must remain RELIABLE & AFFORDABLE. We are concerned that plans and timelines being put together would take us down a very narrow, expensive and risky path for consumers.
Bioheat fuel (About Bioheat) is available to consumers now. It is affordable, renewable and reliable…but it is not being considered a viable option. Our goal is to keep consumers informed when it comes to energy policy and how it will affect you so that we can all work TOGETHER toward a realistic and greener future.

- New York Carbon Tax
The New York Senate and Assembly are considering a new carbon “tax.”
This tax would affect anyone who buys gasoline, propane, heating oil, natural gas or electricity. You would have to pay more to drive your kids to school, get to work, take a shower, stay warm or cook dinner. Typical New York residents would pay about $750 in year one and it will increase each year.

- What is Bioheat fuel?
Bioheat® fuel is made by blending ultra-low sulfur fuels with renewable biodiesel. Bioheat® fuel is ready and available now and it is on the path to net-zero carbon emissions. It can be used in your heating system today with no cost to convert and is a renewable and reliable heating fuel. Ultimately, it is better for homeowners, cleaner for the environment, and safer for our communities.
Beginning in July 2022, all home heating oil must be delivered with at least a 5% blend of renewable fuel. By 2025 the blend requirement will be 10% and by 2030 it will be 20%.
