In October, Mirabito purchases the operations of W. L. Taylor & Son, Inc. in Cooperstown, NY. This purchase includes 7 “Taylor Mini-Mart” convenience stores and the addition of Taylor Home Heating, a home energy branch in Cooperstown.

In August, Mirabito acquires 27 convenience stores in New York and 4 convenience stores in Pennsylvania along with certain real estate from Drake Petroleum, Inc., a subsidiary of Global Partners L.P., resulting in Mirabito surpassing the 100 store mark with 106 convenience store operations.

In August Mirabito acquires Crown Oil Company, Inc. in Bristol, CT.

In January Mirabito acquires Agar Fuel Oil in Great Barrington, MA.

In January the company acquires Gilbert Fuel Co. of Gilbertsville, NY.

In February the company acquires Abbott & Mills Energy of Newburgh, NY.

The company acquires Egelston Propane in Amsterdam, NY.

The company sponsors first-ever AHL Outdoor Hockey Game “The Mirabito Outdoor Classic” held at the NYS Fair Grounds in Syracuse, NY.

The company acquires Westcott Oil Company in Schenectady, NY.

In November the parent company changes its name from Granite Capital Holdings, Inc. to Mirabito Holding, Inc.

The company acquires Wagner Century Oil in Youngsville, NY.

On May 12th the company launches the Mirabito – Quickway REWARDS PLUS program. Employees get new uniforms and name tags, and loyal customers get many great rewards from Quickway, Mirabito, and their Merchant Partners.

The year 2002 also marks the companies 75th Anniversary in the energy business.

Mirabito establishes a partnership with Angus Energy Partners, LLC, to provide customized supply and hedging services to petroleum marketers throughout the U.S.
