[Binghamton, NY, February 27, 2025] – Mirabito Convenience Stores is proud to announce the launch of its Round Up to Fight Hunger campaign throughout the month of March. Customers and community members are invited to shop at their favorite Mirabito locations and round up their purchases in support of local food banks that provide essential resources to those in need across the counties we serve.
Mirabito Convenience Stores, with locations across New York State, are deeply committed to supporting our communities where they need it most. Food insecurity affects countless individuals and families in our region, and by partnering with our customers, we are taking a stand against hunger. All donations from the Round Up program will be distributed to three local food banks that play a vital role in providing food assistance through a variety of programs, including senior grocery assistance, school and youth nutrition programs, medical facility programs, mobile food pantries, and food pantries throughout our service areas.
The three food banks benefiting from this initiative include:
- Food Bank of Central New York – Leading the effort to eliminate hunger in the Central New York, North Country, and Mohawk Valley regions, this organization distributes food and resources to local food pantries, soup kitchens, schools, healthcare organizations, and other meal programs. Donations from the Round Up campaign will benefit communities in Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, and Oswego counties, where Mirabito operates.
- Food Bank of the Southern Tier – Dedicated to building and sustaining hunger-free communities in the Southern Tier, this food bank serves Broome, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tioga, and Tompkins counties. Their efforts ensure local community members receive food assistance through food pantries, schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential programs.
- Regional Food Bank – Committed to alleviating hunger, preventing food waste, and nourishing communities, the Regional Food Bank serves 23 counties. However, donations from the Mirabito Round Up program will be specifically directed to support Delaware, Otsego, and Schoharie counties, aligning with the communities Mirabito serves.
“At Mirabito, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us,” said Marissa Sweeney, Director of Marketing at Mirabito. “Food insecurity is a critical issue affecting so many families, and we are proud to stand alongside our customers to make a meaningful impact. Every cent rounded up will go toward ensuring that individuals and families in our local communities have access to nutritious meals.”
Mirabito encourages all customers to participate by simply rounding up their purchases at checkout. Every contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference in the lives of those struggling with food insecurity.
