[Syracuse, NY – 2/10/2026] – Mirabito Energy Products is proud to announce a donation of $8,500 to The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Program, made possible through our partnership with Syracuse University Athletics. During the season, Mirabito pledged to donate in support of Sports Matter for every successful kick made by the Syracuse Football team during home games. Following another exciting season at the JMA Wireless Dome, Mirabito is honored to contribute to this meaningful initiative that helps provide youth with opportunities to participate in sports.
At Mirabito, community has never been just a word in our vocabulary—it is a responsibility we take seriously. Through Mirabito Cares, our philanthropic mission is focused on supporting organizations and initiatives that strengthen the communities we serve and help youth and families build a brighter future. The Sports Matter Program aligns closely with that mission by ensuring young athletes, regardless of background, have access to the resources and support needed to play.
To celebrate this impactful donation, the Mirabito team welcomed representatives from DICK’S Sporting Goods, including Kim Myers and Mark Mackisoc, as well as CJ Watson and Matthew LaSita from Syracuse Sports Properties, to our Mirabito Energy Products location on Bear St. West in Syracuse on February 5th. The check presentation served as a meaningful moment to recognize the power of community partnerships and the positive impact we can make when organizations come together around a shared purpose. The event also featured a special appearance by Otto the Orange, Syracuse University’s beloved mascot, who helped present the check and bring the celebration to life. Attendees gathered in front of one of Mirabito’s fuel trucks to commemorate the donation, capture the moment, and highlight the collective commitment to supporting youth and families across the communities we serve.
“The Sports Matter initiative is an incredible program that reflects how sports can shape character, build confidence, and strengthen communities,” said Marissa Sweeney, Senior Marketing Director at Mirabito Energy Products. “We’re proud to partner with Syracuse Football to help support this mission and ensure more kids have the chance to play, grow, and thrive through athletics.”
The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Program is rooted in the belief that sports change lives. In addition to physical and mental health benefits, sports have the power to change perspectives, build character, and strengthen communities for the better. Through grants and other support, Sports Matter helps under-resourced 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, and community teams across all 50 states provide opportunities for youth to participate in sports—removing barriers and expanding access to play.
“We’re honored to partner with organizations that recognize the transformative power of sports,” said Kristen Garmey, Director of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation. “We believe every kid deserves a chance to play, and thanks to partnerships like these, we’re able to make that belief a reality for even more young athletes.”
Mirabito is proud to sponsor Syracuse Athletics and remains committed to community-focused initiatives that drive meaningful impact. We are grateful for the opportunity to bring this partnership to life and look forward to continuing to support programs that create a positive difference across the communities we serve.
